The atelier
Oak Street, Lomita
Warpaintstudios South Bay opened in 1998. A year later the Oak Street rooms in Lomita were found: space enough for full-scale figuration, sitting portraiture in oils, and museum-sized work. He taught studio art in the Los Angeles Community College District and chaired Humanities and Fine Arts at West Los Angeles College. The LinkedIn working map is larger still — the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Shenyang. Direct observation. Large paper. The old methods, kept in use.
